Over the years some volunteers in our area have come forward and used the occasion of their own birthdays to open their hearts to children living very different lives from their own.

Birthday Buddies

Junior “hopesters” give up their own birthday gifts and instead ask their friends to bring something to be donated. Through participating in Birthday Buddies our children experience the joy that comes hand in hand with giving.

​Here are some suggestions of what children may ask for in terms of donations:

• Cereal
• Canned goods
• Children's PJs
• Hat and gloves
• Books
• Coats
• Gift cards to known department or grocery stores
